Photo and Video: You Could Be Doing It Wrong: Blue Makeup
Saw this post and would like to share this tip with some of our sisters ....
This is one blue period that's not ending anytime soon.
Celebs love wearing bold makeup, especially of the primary color variety. This
season, Demi Lovato and Gigi Hadid were seeing red with their eye shadows, while Joan Smalls opted for a graphic-blue iteration. All ladies looked phenomenal, but—let's be honest—their beauty game is a tad unrealistic for our everyday trips to wherever it is we are going.
Of course, when you're tackling the blue makeup trend—even if you have the very best products—a heavy hand of hue can go oh-so wrong. Nothing against clowns, but we ain't trying to look like one today, so we tapped celeb makeup artist Rob Scheppy for one quick-but-essential tip.
"Wearing a bold shadow can be great; however, it's best to stick to making one area of your face bold and keeping the rest understated," said the pro. "Either do a bold eye or bold lip but not both."
If you're just dipping a toe into this trend pool, start with a colored eye liner instead. Your eyes will instantly pop. Ready to take a deeper dive? Find a shadow palette with a light and darker shade of blue, like Urban Decay Alice Through the Look Glass Eyeshadow Palette or Tom Ford Eye Color Duo Crushed Indigo, and blend together to create a striking smoky eye.

Oprah Winfrey's Weight Loss One Year Later
This is one blue period that's not ending anytime soon.
season, Demi Lovato and Gigi Hadid were seeing red with their eye shadows, while Joan Smalls opted for a graphic-blue iteration. All ladies looked phenomenal, but—let's be honest—their beauty game is a tad unrealistic for our everyday trips to wherever it is we are going.
Oprah Winfrey has shed dozens of pounds in the past year and she has Weight Watchers to thank.
Dieting is no easy feat, but just as the 62-year-old media mogul has done with books, celebrities and daytime television, Winfrey made losing weight look manageable and familiar by bringing fans along for every step of her journey via social media, commercials and Weight Watcher meeting visits. When she was initially invited to invest in the international weight loss company and become a partial owner, Oprah had to try the product before she could sell it.
"Weight Watchers called me in like mid-July," she told Ellen DeGeneres. "We had our first meeting in August and they said, 'We would like you to come onboard our program and do what you do: self-empowerment, self-enrichment. We think that you can bring another level to us for Weight Watchers.' I said, 'I can't do it unless I actually go with the program. First of all, I've never endorsed anything. I've never been a spokesperson for anybody. So, I will have to do the program myself to see if I actually like those points, because I've been resistant to points.'"
She must have liked the system because by mid-October, she had publicly announced her $43 million investment for a 10 percent share of the company and a seat on the board of directors. "She's a member on her own personal journey toward success, and she believes so much in what we do and our mission that she wants to work with us to inspire people around the world to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives," the company said in a statement at the time.
Oprah was a relatable choice—after all, she has publicly battled her own weight loss issues for decades, famously wheeling out a wagon filled with animal fat during an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to commemorate her 67 pound weight loss, a moment Winfrey has since expressed regret over as she later gained some of the weight back.

As the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio rev up, people around the world are finding something to talk about. But it has nothing to do with the all-star talent on their TVs.Gabby Douglas, the American gymnast who made history at the 2012 London Games, is facing backlash (yet again) for her hair. The 20-year-old gold medalist was at the center of a debate on Twitter during her last Olympic Games because of her gelled ponytail, which people called unkempt. And now that she dared to sweat during competition in steaming-hot Rio, she’s again facing the fury of critics who can’t seem to embrace her natural hair.
While this year’s uproar has been quickly shut down by the more sensible people on Twitter, there is still plenty of hate being spewed toward Douglas’s hairstyling. The controversy over her edges (naturally curly or coarse hairs that form along the hairline) is debatably the most irrelevant conversation about the Olympics thus far.
The lack of logic behind these complaints is quite comical, but luckily there are some Americans stepping in to defend our Olympian.
For the rest of the Games, we can only hope that both Douglas and world championSimone Biles stay unbothered by the criticism.

Today we shall start a new trend, this is to enlighten us all on the importance of proper skincare and the need to imbibe a culture of using Natural Skincare Product.
Let's start with the Male Skincare/ Male grooming
WHY MEN SHOULD EXFOLIATE.... 😎
Exfoliation is the process of scrubbing off dead #skin cells to reveal and expose "younger," fresher skin. The #sheddingprocess unclogs pores, keeps skin#clean and helps reduce #acnebreakouts. It's usually the first step in cleaning your #face, to be followed by washing your face with #soap (preferably one with hypoallergenic properties), and finally, moisturising.
Unfortunately, many #men #washexclusively with bog standard soap. It's certainly enough to keep you clean, but it's not the best bet to keep your skin#healthy. Indeed, bar soap dries out your skin, its #ingredients sometimes clogging pores and leading to rougher skin in the long run.
Exfoliation also helps men in a huge way: it exposes the face's #hair follicles, allowing for a better #shave. And we all know that a smoother shave is the holy grail of a man's morning ritual. The Perfect Wedges..........
I fell in love with them for the first time when my sister came in from the UK wearing what i call the cutest ones ever. They were red patent open-toed from Zara. Dnt get me wrong though, im not talking about the boring low Kate Middleton type, im talking about the Jessica Simpson type, high cork soled sexy Wedges that hugs even the ugliest feet and turns them to edible cute feet.Check these ones out.......
So i put together my selection from Jumia.com.ng that are just a click and order away. I also made sure this selection wont hurt your bank account for those of us who are crazy spend-conscious hahaha.........All prices between 2k+ to 8k
You'll be shocked to know how old these women are........
We've all heard the saying "the older the wine/berry, the sweeter it is". I just coined mine as " the older the woman, the trendier and sexier she is"
Women in their late thirties and into their forties are really stealing the spotlight now, especially black women. Did you ever know that Tamar Braxton is 38? Ok ok, maybe she looks like shes got some work done on her face, what about Nia Long, that girl is 44 good years old. Gabrielle Union nko? Can you guess? 42years, wow...... The one that beats me is Angela Bassett, that woman is 57years old! All these women look amazing and i just cant see them getting old, i can only see them aging beautifully and gracefully.
Im sure if you asked them what their secrets are, it would definitely be eating healthy, exercising and living life to the fullest.
How many of us Nigerian women do this? We complain that we never have the time because we work, we have children, the Nigerian life style is not conducive................. But guess what? All of the women i have mentioned have children, work more than most of us and probably live more fast paced lifestyle than we all do.
Having and acheiving any good goal has never been an easy task, it wont just happen if we dont set our minds to it. Everything has to be planned. Healthy eating has to be planned. An exercise regime or diet to lose weight or be fit has to be planned. And most importantly, we have to commit to our goals. Believe me, its not easy, so dont beat your self up when you renege on your plan, you just dust your self up and start over or continue...
Join a dance class, look for an aerobic group on Instagram or bbm to join or follow, go for swimming lessons (hook me up for a great decent place to learn to swim), follow women who will inspire you on social media, and lastly, its never too late to have a healthy life. Always remember that you are beautiful in the eyes of God so live life to the fullest..............
Back to the Basics and going "Au Naturel"
Right now, im growing out my natural hair, im letting the permed and relaxed part go.
My plan is to wear my hair without having it relaxed with chemicals.
I have always had very soft and light hair and never been one of those girls that had to use the "super relaxer" or carry the relaxer process for long when doing a perm.
When the relaxer is applied to my hair, i rinse and shampoo almost immediately after so my hair does not "over-relax" and become scanty.
So i believe leaving my natural hair the way Baba God created it would be easy, but will it fit me???
Thats always our fear.
Some friends would never let their hair breath just because they feel their own hair is too scanty, makes them look ugly, or too young, or cheap, or local etc. So they keep covering it and killing it with weaves and artificial hair. If we sit and calculate how much we have spent on our hair alone, im sure some of us would have a heart attack.
Lets look at these natural hair styles first:
I think the key is being adventurous and daring when it comes to carrying your natural hair. If you leave it packed in a bun to the back always or just combed straight back it would be plain and boring.
So try these easy exciting steps and styles when you want to go au naturel with your hair:
-Treat your hair like you treat your expensive weaves, dont wash it always, cos water makes it kinkier unless thats what you are aiming for, condition, curl it, you can even set it with rollers and setting lotions.
-Dont be scared to cut it, it will always grow back, and make sure you cut at a good barber who can give the cut that fits your head and face shape
-Color color color your natural hair. It makes you look more stylish and coloring natural hair would be safer as its just one chemical process, coloring relaxed hair would be like killing your hair twice.
-Take more time with your make up when you go natural so you dont look too plain.
-Accessorize more. Dont over do it as usual, but be bold with your accessories.
-You can also use natural looking hair attachments to make your hair fuller if thats what you want.
The most exciting thing for me about going natural is that i save lots of money and i dont go through all the aches and pains of sitting for hours making fake artificial hair, at least for a while sha hahaha..............
