OJB’s last interview: ‘Some say life begins at 40, I think life actually begins at 50’

  • On Sunday June 12, 2016, TheNETng spent time at home with Nigerian producer OJB Jezreel, who has passed on today, aged 49.
  • It is a pre-50th birthday interview he'll never get to read.
  • Excerpts below.

OJB Jezreel, wife Mama J with a hospital staff in an Indian hospital
Sometime in April, I ran into my very good friend Sarumi Ademiluyi, an industry plugger and artiste manager. The last I remember, he was OJB’s manager, so I asked ‘How far bro, how Baba (OJB)’. He replied saying, ‘Baba dey ok o. We dey even plan to do him 50th birthday in July’.
Immediately I said to him, ‘Bro you know I have to be the one to get his 50th birthday exclusive interview’, and he was like, ‘Sure na, you be my oga na (laughs)’.
So we agreed to meet up over the weekend and set up a meet with OJB.
The meeting didn’t hold, but we spoke on phone a couple of times and Ade was like, ‘I don brief Baba about the interview, so you can call him to see him’.
I called OJB myself. He didn’t pick

God Bless Yoruba Mothers

YORUBA MOTHERS!!!
Yorùbá mothers are the best when it comes to
child upbringing.
Yorùbá mothers produce the best range of slaps:
IGBATI,
IFOTI,
IGBAJU,
IGBARUN,
IFORUN,
IFAKUN,
ILADI,
ABARA.
These slaps will make you think you were
adopted.
IGBATI will make you correct your wrongs
instantly!
The beauty of IFOTI is, you will confess your
sins on the spot.
IGBARUN, IGBAJU and IFORUN will make you
expose those who committed the crime with you
without hesitation.
ABARA and ILADI will make you pee in your new
pants.
Now ABARA is the worst...
And apart from IGBAJU, we have an advanced
one which is IGBAJU OLOYI.
When you receive that one, you'll lose balance
and your head will go into
"auto-search"
as you'll be looking for what hit you.
This will make you do all the actions of the
other slaps aforementioned at once!
OH! IGBAJU OLOYI...
it can reset someone to 3D (DEAF, DUMB, and
DAFT). She will say "let's go home" and you will say
"it's in my pocket ma". Lol
God bless our parents for the good upbringing.
If you were brought-up in Yoruba land,
regardless of how caring your mother was, you'd
have encountered these slaps ....

I know you're laughing even if you aren't yoruba by tribe
LOLS......#Happy fasting

Sponsored Post: That We May Live in Peace

#MYONEKOBO

Call them Niger Delta Avengers, Ijaw Peoples Avengers, Jonathan's Defeat Avengers, whatever you choose to call them, this villainy, brigandage, economic sabotage and blowing up of pipelines must stop, "he who burns down his father's house inherits ashes". It must be known that the greater number of our people lampoons and repudiate the violence in the Niger Delta. So, stop branding the Niger Delta people as villains and war mongers because we are NOT.

Call them MASSOB, IPOB or Biafrans, there is the need for equity, fairness and justice within the Nigerian State, the right to peacefully agitate is inalienable and the use of extremely deadly force to deny unarmed citizens of the exercise and expression of such right is terrorism. Justice, equity and fairness is the only weapon that truly can.

Call them Herdsmen, Fulani Herdsmen, Marauding Herdsmen, Malian/Chadian/Libyan Herdsmen or whatever, the time to repudiate their villainy with the same promptness that we do the others is now. Use the law as the weapon to check impunity.

To the Federal Government and my Dear President, dialogue rather than warfare is the way to go, in the short run, there must be far reaching effort at giving every part of this Union a true sense of belonging. Your appointing protocol and governmental engagement of staff and persons must be inclusive and uniting. And the imperativeness of massive infrastructural development and the restructuring of the nation cannot be overemphasized.

As I did when I went unshaven for 7months in 2014 calling for dialogue with the Haramists to stem insurgency in the North East, the repudiation of violence and violent reprisals\military action remains my forte. Military action is expensive, military action kills one vista of hate and opens a new chasm of hate, military action leads to loss of innocent lives and destruction of properties, and oftentimes deals unimaginable collateral damage.

It is a huge historical lie and fallacy to say that "you do not negotiate with terrorists". The US did with the Taliban, the UK did with the Irish Republican Army IRA, talks are ongoing everywhere in the World to etiolate terror, you can't shoot terror out of existence, you can talk terror into extinction.

To me it is never late, can never be late, and will never be late to raise the greatest weapon against villainy, and that weapon is Love, dialogue and proactive albeit peaceful engagement.

It is better to jaw jaw than to war war.

God bless You.
