Prostituition Scandal
“The gringos got rowdy at the bar. They drank fine whisky and slept with the prettiest ones, the ones that charge 300,000 pesos (£113),” one staff member told the El Heraldo newspaper. “Some did not want to pay. To make it worse, they almost beat up employees who wanted them to pay up.”
Prostitution is legal in Colombia and encounters between foreigners and local women often begin in the strip clubs.
“The girls dance for the audience. They put on a show,” Juan Carlos, the Pley club's manager told the Daily News. “Then, they walk around and talk to the guys... if they like each other, they negotiate a deal.
“The tourists come here and have a good time. We don’t let them mistreat the girls. They come to us if someone isn’t treating them right. Customers get drunk, but it never gets out of hand.”

Naira Splash as Igbos Convert to Islam
Governor Aliyu Wamakko and his Bauchi State counterpart, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, both gave N5million each to Igbo natives who converted to Islam last Friday. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu gave N2 million and N1million to the converts.
The event took place at the National Mosque in Abuja.
The Chief Imam of the National Mosque, who was represented at the ceremony, announced the cash donation. The converts who were all males within the ages of 25 and 35 years said they accepted Islam because it is a “truthful, peaceful and charitable faith.”

“I was attracted to Islam because of the truth it resonated in me, and I saw the charity of the faith which all its adherents find peace and solace in,” said Ibrahim Ukah, formerly Uchenna Ukah and a younger brother of a fellow convert, Tobechi Ukah, now Abdullahi Ukah.
The commencement of Friday prayers at the mosque was unusually late as the converts were given priority when Islamic rites were administered on them for 30 minutes.
The 18 men from the South-Eastern part of the country were led by the NTA Owerri host of “Islamic calling in Igbo language” Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Orjiegbulam alongside the Board of Trustees, Secretary of the Justice Mamman Nasir Islamic Centre for Peace and Research, Alhaji Ibrahim Biobo Nlomije.
Long Distance Relationship Palaver
I'm in a long-term, long-distance relationship and don't see my boyfriend often. A few months ago, I met a guy online (we share mutual friends). He was going through a rough patch and needed someone to talk to, but we now speak regularly through IM, email and video chat. We haven't met, but I think I'm falling for him, or at least the side he's revealed. (I'm not so deluded as to think our relationship stands up to much in the real world.) I feel as if I'm cheating on my boyfriend as this guy is constantly on my mind and my boyfriend isn't. I don't want to cut off contact with this guy as he's now a good friend but I'm worried that if we meet, I'll end up crossing a line.
I need advice on how best to handle this situation.
Guess who said
If you come from my background, any woman who agrees to marry a man who is not rich, a man who alternates between police stations and cells and lives in a one or two bedroom apartment, that is your real love. When my wife said I love you, it was from her heart."- Gov. Adams Oshiomhole

About Male Tummies
Male bellies are different. Ours don't have the invitingly soft appearance of female tummies, nor do they sympathetically trace the body's natural lines. They're a swell of grotesque dough that balloons out horizontally. When I've allowed my stomach to expand too much, I find myself grabbing at it, aggressively, as if it's not part of me. And that's actually how it feels. My gut isn't a metaphor for all the times I've lost control of my eating; it's a physical manifestation. It's not a body part, like a leg or an eye; it's a psychological flaw that's been made physical. It's shame that I can touch.
Onion Myths in India
In India, some sects do not eat onions as they believe them to be an aphrodisiac. Various schools of Buddhism also advise against the consumption of onions and garlic because they increase desire when eaten cooked and anger when eaten raw.
Never get married to a strip club owner
A Michigan strip club owner has bought the house next door to his ex-wife and erected a
giant middle finger in the back yard.
giant middle finger in the back yard.
Alan Markovitz, who owns a series of strip clubs in Detroit, spent $7,000 erecting the 12
foot tall bronze statue facing the house owned by ex-wife Lea Tuohy.
The pictures were posted on Twitter by Tuohy's daughter, Lenka.
But he says the middle finger salute isn't aimed at her, but at her new partner - with whom
she started an affair while she and Markovitz were still married.
Markovitz told a local newspaper "I'm so over her. This is about him. This is about him not
being a man."
Markovitz wrote an autobiography, modestly entitled Topless Prophet: The True Story of
America's Most Successful Gentleman's Club Entrepreneur.
He's set to star in an HBO reality TV show with the same title in the new year.
He bought the house after an estate agent coincidentally showed him the house next

American Democracy
And the wreckage of America’s foreign policy lies scattered even further afield across the Middle East.
In Egypt, Washington’s push to dethrone Hosni Mubarak opened the door for the Iranian-aligned Muslim Brotherhood to take over. Now the military has reasserted its power and is trying to keep a lid on the post-Mubarak turmoil. Meanwhile, Egypt’s alliances with the U.S. and Israel lie in tatters.
In Libya, America’s intervention to oust Muammar Qadhafi ended with extremists in power and a lethal terrorist attack on America’s outpost in Benghazi. Libya is now ruined and lawless, aligned with Iran and violently hostile to America.
It all started with noble rhetoric about squashing extremism and nurturing the blossoms of democracy and peace. But Americans can’t name one place where that promise has inarguably materialized
Popular 90s musician Father U Turn dies at 36

The dancehall artiste who rose from poverty as an orphan, to build a successful and inspiring career as a songwriter, recording artiste, TV presenter and performer, passed on in Lagos today, following a brief illness. He was 36 years old. May his soul rest in peace...Amen. Read more about him after the cut...
The late U Turn was from Kabba-Bunu in Kogi State where he first tried his hands on entertainment, working as a radio and TV presenter.
He had a brief stint at NTA in Lagos, after relocating here, before signing a deal with Ultima Records which released his early albums.
He was a little boy, with braids and a charming personality. And his signature intro 'Apoola Berekete' was far beyond his stature. But he got the industry's attention and got a leg in the door before long. After years of club tours and free gigs, he got his first break when he was signed to one of the biggest record labels of the time, Ultima Records.
Ultima engaged Nelson Brown to work on his first album which proved to be a huge success.
The hits 'African Culture' and 'Shakara' threw him into national limelight, instantly putting him in the league of bonafide ghetto stars like Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh.
He espoused Okokomaiko where he resided, with many songs dedicated to the Lagos outskirt.
His second album 'Padlock Ur Mouth' produced the smash hit 'Yetunde' a collaboration with Pasuma Wonder.
With dozens of awards confirming his exploits, including multiple decoration by Awards for Musical Excellence in Nigeria (AMEN), Youths Awards for Excellence in Music (YAFEM), amongst many others, U Turn lead a generation of alternative dancehall cats by the hands. And in Okokomaiko where he spent the last two decades of his life, he was like a king. His success encouraged many children in the area to embrace music, and he supported many of them.
Although his later years were troubled by label issues with Bayowa Music, and career challenges that came with unsuccessful albums, Father U Turn remained dedicated to his art - recording endlessly and refusing to let go of his passion and dedication to reggae/dancehall. He also vehemently refused to relocate from Okokomaiko, despite constant pleas from friends and family.
He died in a hospital around Okokomaiko today, after suffering a liver related illness. A family member confirmed he had been in and out of hospital for many weeks. He had been on admission at the last hospital for 10 days before he passed on.
He is survived by his siblings, wife Ajimoh and five children.
