Policewoman Commits Suicide After Texting Husband Message Meant For Her Lover

A policewoman committed suicide after writing a text to a male colleague thanking him for a 'wonderful' date - but accidentally sent it to her husband, an inquest heard.
PC Gail Crocker, 46, met a fellow officer while her husband Peter, 49, was away from their home near St Austell, Cornwall, on a business trip in London.
Later that evening the mother of two typed a message on her mobile saying: 'Thank you for a wonderful evening. Only wish we could do this more often'.

But Mrs Crocker sent it to her husband of 30 years by mistake, an inquest in Truro was told.
He came home and she admitted to having a 'one-off' rendezvous with a male colleague but insisted it had never happened before.
The couple rowed, and the next day Mrs Crocker called in sick from work and drove to a lane two-and-a-half miles away from her home in the village of St Stephen.  She took an overdose and was later found dead in her car on 15 June.

Mr Crocker, of St Stephen, Cornwall, told the inquest his wife had begged him for forgiveness when he got back from his trip.
He said: 'I got out [of the car] and she was in floods of tears saying she was sorry. She told me it was a one-off and she had never done it before.

Mr Crocker told the hearing they rowed the following morning, saying: 'She went on and on again. My work phone rang. I was so angry I slammed it into the ground.

Gail Crocker, 46, committed suicide after sending a text meant for a man she had dated to her husband
After going to the supermarket to buy a replacement phone, Mr Crocker arrived home later that day to find his wife and her car had gone.
Mr Crocker contacted her sergeant at Bodmin Police Station who told him she had called in sick for her shift that afternoon.
He said: 'I didn't sleep at all. I didn't hear from Gail during the night.'
The following morning David Rendell and his wife, close friends of the Crockers, spotted Mrs Crocker's car in the car park at Lanjeth, a nearby village, and called her husband.

Mr Crocker discovered his wife's body in the boot next to an empty bottle of tablets, which the pathologist said caused her death, and suicide notes written to him and daughters Chloe, 22 and Gemma, 25.
Mrs Crocker, who met her husband in Plymouth when she was 15 and he was 17, first trained as a PCSO in Truro in 2003 and became a police constable in 2007.
Mr Crocker added in his statement: 'She was a people person - she would speak to anyone about anything. Being a PCSO was her perfect job.

'She was my life.  We had plans.  Nothing was worth her taking her life.  I'm lost without her.'
  - Paul Crocker, 49

'She was my life. We had plans. Nothing was worth her taking her life. I'm lost without her.'
The unnamed colleague with whom Mrs Crocker spent the evening was not required to give evidence or named at the inquest.
Returning a verdict of suicide, Coroner for Cornwall Emma Carlyon told the hearing she was satisfied that Mrs Crocker's death resulted from a deliberate act to take her own life.
At the time of her death colleagues paid tribute to the 'excellent' police officer who was based in Truro and later Bodmin.
Sector inspector Robin Hogg said: 'I have known Gail for several years and will always remember her as an excellent officer with a bright, happy and positive disposition.'
'Gail leaves a husband and two daughters who miss her deeply and are very proud of the role she carried out in the community.'

Nigerian Survives 3-Days At Bottom Of Atlantic Ocean

LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — About 100 feet down, on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, divers had
already pulled four bodies out of the sunken tugboat. Then a hand appeared on a TV screen
monitoring the recovery.

Everyone assumed it was another corpse, and the diver moved toward it.

"But when he went to grab the hand, the hand grabbed him!" Tony Walker, project manager for
the Dutch company DCN Diving, said of the rescue in May.

Harrison Odjegba Okene, the tug's Nigerian cook, had survived for three days by breathing an
ever-dwindling supply of oxygen in an air pocket. A video of Okene's dramatic rescue —

was posted on the Internet more than six months after the rescue and has gone viral this week.

As the temperature dropped to freezing, Okene, dressed only in boxer shorts, recited a psalm
his wife had sent him earlier by text message, sometimes called the Prayer for Deliverance.
"Oh, God, by your name, save me. ... The Lord sustains my life."

To this day, Okene believes his rescue after 72 hours underwater was the result of divine
deliverance. The 11 other seamen aboard the tug Jascon 4 died.

On the video, there was an exclamation of fear and shock from Okene's rescuers, and then joy
as the realization set in that this hand belonged to a survivor. "What's that? He's alive! He's
alive!" a voice can be heard exclaiming.

"It was frightening for everybody," Walker said of that moment, speaking in a telephone interview Tuesday. "For the guy that was trapped because he didn't know what was happening. It was a shock for the diver while he was down
there looking for bodies, and we (in the control room) shot back when the hand grabbed him on
the screen."

Walker said Okene couldn't have lasted much longer.

"He was incredibly lucky. He was in an air pocket, but he would have had a limited time (before)
... he wouldn't be able to breathe anymore."

The full video of the rescue was released by DCN Diving after a request from The Associated
Press. Initially, a shorter version of the rescue emerged on the Internet. The authenticity of
the video was confirmed through conversations with DCN employees in the Netherlands. The
video showing Okene was also consistent with additional photos of him on the rescue ship.
The AP also contacted Okene, who confirmed the events.

Okene's ordeal began around 4:30 a.m. on May 26. Always an early riser, he was in the toilet
when the tug, one of three towing an oil tanker in Nigeria's oil-rich Delta waters, gave a sudden
lurch and then keeled over.

"I was dazed and everywhere was dark as I was thrown from one end of the small cubicle to
another," Okene said in an interview with Nigeria's Nation newspaper after his rescue.

He groped his way out of the toilet and tried to find a vent, propping doors open as he moved.
He discovered some tools and a life vest with two flashlights, which he stuffed into his shorts.

When he found a cabin of the sunken vessel that felt safe, he began the long wait, getting
colder and colder as he played back a mental tape of his life — remembering his mother, his
friends, but mostly his wife of five years, with whom he hadn't yet fathered a child.

He worried about his colleagues — the Ukrainian captain and 10 Nigerians, including four young
cadets from Nigeria's Maritime Academy. They would have locked themselves into their cabins,
standard procedure in an area stalked by pirates.

He got really worried when he heard a loud sound in the water outside — sharks or barracuda,
he supposed — fighting over something big.

As the waters rose, he made a rack on top of a platform and piled two mattresses on top.

"I started calling on the name of God," Okene told the Nation. "I started reminiscing on the
verses I read before I slept. I read the Bible from Psalms 54 to 92. My wife had sent me the
verses to read that night when she called me before I went to bed."

He survived on a single bottle of Coke.

Okene really thought he was going to die, he said, when he heard the sound of a boat engine
and an anchor dropping, but failed to get the attention of its crew. He figured, given the size
of the sunken tugboat, that it would take a miracle for anyone to locate him. So he waded
across the cabin, stripped the wall down to its steel body and banged on it with a hammer.

But "I heard them moving away. They were far away from where I was," he said.

By the time the divers found him, relatives already had been told there were no survivors.

Using hot water to warm him up, the rescue crew attached Okene to an oxygen mask. He was
put into a decompression chamber and then safely returned to the surface.

Before the slow ascent began, a voice on the video could be heard asking Okene to give a
thumbs up if he understood what was about to happen. Slowly he raised his hand and stuck
out his thumb.

"Good job, my friend. Well done," the voice says. "You are a survivor."

Men & Woman Need This: Incredible Truth About The Penis

Men & Woman Need This: Incredible Truth About The Penis

Even though a penis is controlled by the nervous system, it also has a
mind of its own. Erections can occur at random due to some impulses
firing from the brain during sleep and that is why most mornings, men
experience 'morning glows'. The penis is turgid without a prior sexual
arousal trigger. In fact, the penis does not need the man’s brain
before it climaxes. It is basically the function of the penis than the
brain of the man.
Orgasm actually starts with the spine; the signal to ejaculate is the
result of muscle contractions in the spinal cord and pelvis, not the
brain. But amazingly, simple things like having a rough day at work
can lead to a man not gaining an erection for a week...
On average, adult penis typically measures between four and six
inches when flaccid and six to nine inches when erect. So typically,
most penises are created equal in almost all men. Human penis still
weighs and looks bigger than that of other animals. Many men worry
so much about the look of their penis but the truth of the matter is
curves are common in penis.
The vast majority of penises lean ever so slightly to the left or right
when erect (you are probably just too distracted to notice). However,
some bend so dramatically (or curve up or down) that having sex is
almost impossible. This is known as Peyronie’s Disease and it
happens when the penis doesn’t expand evenly during a hard-on.
The structure of the penis does not help men to finish slowly; rather
they are programmed to finish quickly. So wives, don’t take it
personal. One of the purposes of intercourse for men is pleasure, then
procreation. In fact, 85 per cent of men think of pleasure first before
procreation while having sex.
Penile rupture is very real; it tends to happen mostly during vigorous
sex and also overly enthusiastic solo action like masturbation. Most
men who have experienced this unthinkable breakage always report
hearing a cracking noise, followed by excruciating pain. It is always
advisable to get treatment on time because an untreated fracture can
lead to permanent erectile dysfunction (ED).
Penis size, thickness and shape are not genetic. Penises are actually
formed in uterus when the male hormones are in active service.
Penises have a ‘seam’ as all men have a line going down their penis
and over their testicles. It’s more a ‘seam’ on the underside of the
penis. It forms when the foetus is in the uterus. In women, the seam
becomes the inner lips of the vagina. In men, the seam encloses the
urethra along the length of the penis. Penises contrast in colour to
other body parts; penises are generally darker in colour than the
bodies they hang from.
Why? It’s part of the sexual maturation process. Every penis
experiences a degree of shrinkage on a daily basis, especially when it
is very cold. In other words, cold weather and cold water are a penis’
mortal enemies. A typical testicles need to be warm to effectively
make sperm and testosterone. So when you stay too long in a chilly
air-condition room on a daily basis, try to take a ten minutes’ walk in
a warm environment away from the cold. But there is no correlation
between penis size and shoe size, hand size or wallet size.
And the worst exercise for the penis is masturbation. Masturbation is
not healthy at all. Smoking isn’t just bad for your lungs; it is also bad
for the penis. It’s no secret that smoking clogs the arteries, including
those that fill the penis with blood, especially at the initial stage of
ejaculation. This means the penises of smokers may have a harder
time rising to its full potential at the occasion of sexual activities.
Also, men will go limp if they drink too much.
Men really do get ‘blue-balls, technically called ‘prostatic congestion
which is caused by ‘trapped’ blood in the testicles. It has been
discovered that a lukewarm shower or aspirin will also do the trick.
With a vasectomy, a man can still be a father because some sperm
cell can still hang around, ready, willing and able to cause a woman
to be pregnant two weeks post operation. So, it’s important to use
some kind of protection until your family doctor says the coast is
clear.
Please note that if an erection comes on and refuses to go away, this
is not a miracle, but a medical emergency. This means that the blood
flow that causes an erection doesn’t eventually leave the penis.
Serious complications can result, like blood clots and some major
damage.
Questions and Answers:
Should I or should I not?
Seven months ago, my wife of 11 years suddenly left my home
unannounced with my seven-year-old last child. I was so worried I
had to report the case to the police who after series of searching,
eventually discovered that she actually moved to the house of one of
my church members, a wealthy business tycoon. This became a court
case and when she was asked why she left without traces, she said it
was on the basis that I do not satisfy her sexually. Now, she is
begging to come back. Should I take her back? Her insatiable sexual
craving has been a big issue since the inception of our marriage. I
can’t satisfy her even if I over try.
- Peter Ajukochi
This is a case of libidinal mismatch leading to unfaithfulness, I think
you both can still sit and talk things over. There are quite a lot of
things to do together when couples’ sex drive do not match.
Amazingly, every human being has untapped sexual potential in us. If
she has been complaining from the outset of your union, what have
you done to rectify the situation? Bear it in mind that your low desire
affects your wife immensely; so you must stretch yourself to take time
to enhance your libido. This will bond the two of you together the
more and grant you some discoveries about your own sexuality. Take
quality time to discover your wife’s sexual peculiarities. It is very
wrong and unethical for your wife to abandon her matrimonial home
in search of a momentary pleasure. But I would also plead for your
forgiveness. Since she has discovered her mistakes, I am sure she will
make it up to you. Please take her back and in future, don’t ignore
her complaints.
Why should I be careful about semen analysis?
I have done quite a number of semen analyses, yet I can’t make my
wife get pregnant. Why should I be careful about semen analysis or
continue to carry out the same test?
- Matins Matins
Are you sure you are carrying out the necessary test? Frankly
speaking, semen analysis is not a measure of fertility; rather, it is a
measure of sperm production and sperm delivery. So, a single semen
analysis really does not mean everything is normal or abnormal. It
just means there’s normal production, normal delivery of sperm. Most
men, when there are concerns about fertility, will be told to get a
semen analysis. It is a good thing but it is important that if a man
has concerns over fertility, he has at least two and probably three
separate semen analyses, each one after three days of abstinence,
each about six to eight weeks apart. And then, and only then, can you
say you have successfully completed the test.
Is it advisable to send a spy after my partner?
If a husband or wife notices some suspicious moves, activities and
behaviour in the life of his or her partner especially sexual life, Is it
advisable for the suspecting partner to send spies to get adequate
information before taking necessary action, If no, why?
- Simian Jubilee
I do not think it is a wise idea. One thing is certain, there is nothing
hidden that will not be revealed over a period of time. And from
observation, when you are not too sure of something, it is either you
patiently wait for a proper timing or you wisely confront your spouse.
And if he or she denies the confrontation, you can just keep your
calm. Things will definitely reveal themselves sooner than you think.
But if you start sending spies here and there, searching for
information, digging up stories, you may end up destroying the very
thing you want to protect. Where mistrust, doubt, and suspicion reign,
every air that blows is a potential danger bomb.
Can erectile dysfunction prevent pregnancy?
Apparently yes but this depends greatly on the degree and level of the
erectile dysfunction challenge. If it is a chronic erectile dysfunction, it
has 75-83 per cent of preventing pregnancy, especially when the
erection is not hard enough for effective ejaculation or when the man
ejaculates just at the tip of the vagina. If it is an acute erectile
dysfunction [ a sudden event of either premature ejaculation or quick
ejaculation], there may be a likelihood of the man being able to
impregnate his wife when the man is treated on time.

Miss Kedike, Chidinma Talks About Her Sex Video Scandal and Life as A Star

Kora award winner and Ex Project Fame winner, Chidinma Ekile, tells ‘Nonye Ben-Nwankwo how she has been able to manage the recent controversies surrounding her

You won Kora Awards last year and this year again, you were nominated for an international award, Channel O Awards. Did you ever imagine that you would get to this stage?

No way. I never imagined it in any way. All I did was just to be focused. I knew this was what I loved doing and I decided to just keep doing it. I didn’t expect that it would get this big. Sometimes I sit back and I think back of how it started.

But did the awards have any impact on your career?

Oh yes. When I won the Kora and got back to Nigeria, it was a whole different experience. People started treating me differently. They wondered how ‘small’ Chidinma could go to Cote D’ivoire and bring the Kora home. It added to my profile. Being nominated for the Channel O Award is a big deal for me even if I didn’t clinch the award.

How has it been since then?

It has been good and challenging. It has been a lot of work.

Did you go back to school?

Oh yes. I am managing my career and my studies. I don’t have a choice. I wake up every day and I realise I have a lot of things to do. This is really the best time to tidy up my education. This is my youth. I get busier by the day. It will get tougher. I have to do what I have to do before time gets tougher.

Are you not scared or intimidated competing with other bigger female artistes in the industry?

I have never been a competition person even though I am a product of a competition. But I didn’t see Project Fame as a competition. I was doing what I love doing. In the industry, I am not in any competition. I am just Chidinma. I have tried to carve a niche for myself. I try to be different all the time. I don’t like a situation where somebody will say ‘Chidinma sounds like this person or that person.’ When that comes, competition arises. I am not in for that. I just want to be me and I always try to improve. I want to be versatile. I don’t want to be put in a box. I am here to have fun and make money at the same time.

But you must look up to some of the female artistes…

Definitely. Most of the time I was preparing for the Project Fame competition, I listened to Omawumi a lot. I followed her right from the time she came out of West African Idols. I just loved her kind of music. It is African and she has lots of messages at the same time. I love Onyeka Onwenu as well. I can learn from any one. I am still able to talk and ask question. I am still their baby.

Do you owe Project Fame all you have achieved?

I owe it to Project Fame to a reasonable extent. I don’t think I would be here if not for Project Fame. I didn’t take music seriously. I felt it was something I could do during my leisure. I didn’t know it would become a profession.

If you hadn’t won, you wouldn’t have been bothered?

It wouldn’t have mattered. I didn’t even know I was going to win. I felt I was having fun and if I got money, it was okay. I didn’t want to be the winner. I didn’t want everybody’s eyes to be on me. But it happened and I didn’t have a choice. I decided to give it a trial. That is why I am here today.

You eventually came into the spotlight and it opened doors to controversies and scandals…

I have been in the news lately. My manager told me that I am a balloon on top of lots of needles. People want me to drop on those needles and get deflated. He told me to be careful. The first time was when my Unclad picture went viral. I actually went for a photo shoot for my friend. I wore a tube dress. Some mischief makers actually cropped off the lower part of the picture and posted it on the Internet. It was as if I was Unclad. I wasn’t happy at all. I had that picture. I had to post the real picture on the net and people now got convinced the Unclad picture wasn’t original. I thought that was the end, I didn’t know a bigger scandal was coming…

You mean the sex video?

Oh yes. I woke up one morning and I was greeted on the internet with ‘Chidinma and Compromizing Video’. I was worried primarily because of my mother. I didn’t let her see the video but I had to show her the photos. I didn’t want to go out that day. I couldn’t go out. But my mum felt otherwise. She told me to ignore the mischief makers. I almost took some actions but I thought against it. I met Sound Sultan on a set. He told me, ‘Babe, you are now a star. I welcome you officially into the industry.’ I trended for three days. Even people who didn’t know me got to know me. My fan base grew. And then, I was happy because more than 90 per cent of the public didn’t believe I was the one in that video. There were people who didn’t need to see the video to believe I couldn’t have done such thing. I am just grateful to everyone who didn’t believe the story. My twitter account was hacked and the people created another account. They kept releasing nasty pictures and they were even responding to the tweets as if I was the one doing it. I was just watching and laughing. It put me in the spotlight. I used it for good.

But such scandal shouldn’t be good for your career…

Ever since I started, I have been scared of scandals. I didn’t want to have any. But I realised that I cannot run away from it. It is just normal. It is not everybody who is happy seeing me rise. Some people are trying to do something to stop me. But Compromizing Video is not enough to stop me. They should bring up something else. The Compromizing Video just took me to another level in my career. It moved me up. This is no more ‘little’ Chidinma. It didn’t bring me down in any way. I am still doing a lot of things.

One of the Skuki boys said he is in love with you and would want to marry you…

Oh yes. Everybody wants to marry me but I am not ready for marriage.

But the boy came out publicly and declared his love for you…

I laughed when I saw that story. I have not considered his request. I still have to make more money before I consider marriage. He is actually my friend and he never told me something like that. I have been linked with so many people. People cannot imagine me being a saint. They are just looking for something to attach to me.

How does it feel like being a star?
It is a lot of work. People see me and envy me and say ‘ohhh, she is now a star and she must be enjoying’. I am not enjoying. The more you are there, the more you do things. The expectation is now so high. Being a star is not so much fun because you have to do more work. You have to please people. You have to smile even when you are not in the mood. It is so frustrating. But then, you owe it to some people, you have put yourself out there. This is what I have signed for. Nobody begged me to do this.

Abuja Conoil filling station engulfed by fire this evening

The Conoil filling station opposite NNPC Towers along Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja, went into flames on Thursday as a tanker discharged the 33,000 litres of petrol it delivered.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the fire started at about 3 p.m., forcing offices around the petrol station to close.

Some of the station attendants told NAN that the cause of the fire was unknown, but that they would not rule out electrical spark or metal scratch within the area when the tanker was discharging.

Samuel Moses, an attendant, said he was at the third pump selling petrol to a customer when he saw smoke bellowing by the side of the tanker, which made people to scamper for safety.

``No one can say the cause but I was selling petrol when I saw the smoke and raised an alarm. In seconds, all of us were running for our dear lives as we know what it means.

``We even forgot about the fire extinguishers and other things put in place to fight fire at the station.

``We thank God that nobody died and all the 16 vehicles, including five other tankers were safely evacuated from the station,’’ Moses said.

No official of the station was available for comments on the incident at the time of this report.

Some sympathisers at the scene, however, said the fire could have been better controlled if the fire service had got to the filling station on time.

Isa James, a civil servant who witnessed the onset of the incident, said the fire service arrived at the scene more than 20 minutes after the fire started.

He said ``look at the distance between the fire service office and the NNPC; but it took the officers over 20 minutes to arrive, this is just unfortunate.

``If they were here earlier, they could have reduced the extent of damage and could have saved cost.’’

NAN reports that there was no fatality recorded though one person sustained head injury when an underground tank also caught fire, while three people slumped due to exhaustion and smoke which they inhaled.

The three people were later taken to hospital for proper medical attention.

NAN also reports that the fire had been successfully contained through the combined efforts of six fire vehicles, consisting one each from the National Assembly and NEMA, and four dispatched from the fire service.

Military, Police and Civil Defence Corps personnel were at the scene to control the crowd and traffic. (NAN)

My Experience with Weed

I had just moved out of my parents house and was sharing a room with my "friend". I had no idea he smoked weed, despite his suspicious movements and signature weed scent(abi na odour?) barely two weeks after moving in with him, my worst fears were confirmed as he started bringing home his weed smoking buddies and they would occassionally roll a wrap and smoke it right there in the room or mix the weed with beans or spagehtti. Being a very curious person i always wondered what made them happy after smoking, so i decided to find out for myself(wrong move)
It was a very hot day in february, a saturday i think it was, my friend was out as usual. I searched everywhere for his stash but couldn't find it so i decided to go and get mine. I arrived the weed joint all sweaty and nervous, half expecting to get muged but nobody seemed to be aware of my presence there, they were all on different planets all expect one i concluded that he must be the seller so i approached him and the following conversation ensued: Me: how far? Weed seller: i dey Me: i wan buy weed Weed seller: how many parcel? Me: parcel ke? Iro oo, na just small i need Weed seller: laughs really hard. bolo leleyi sha(meaning this guy is a dunce oo) Apparently, a parcel of weed is that small wrap, i didn't know that. I thought it was something very large. I gave him 1000naira and he gave me a tiny wrap of weed with a white paper, i was suprised when he gave me 950 as change. I couldn't beleive weed was that cheap.
On my way home, i decided not to smoke it but mix it with beans because i thought that it will be better that way(another wrong move). Long story short, i cooked beans and added the whole weed, ate it and called my friend, i told him ogbeni i just ate weed oo and nothing happened to me this one that you people will eat and be feeling funky, i don chop am oo. My friend was like ehen you be strong man oo I decided to take a quick nap before doing laundry, i woke up about 20 minutes later on the floor i was banging my head on the floor, and i couldn't stop, my heart beat was so audible and fast, everything was extra bright and extra loud. After a few minutes of head banging, i was able to get up from the floor, I felt as if i had just gained access to a part of my mind that I never knew existed previously, it was scary and cool at the same time. I could feel the blood flowing in my veins(you have to experience it to believeit. Though I strongly advise against it) i felt so uncomfortable in the room, it felt like i was in an oven suddenly a voice in my head wisphered ogbeni bo aso e joor (off your clothes) i obeyed. The voice came again oya sa re(now run) that was when i realised that the weed had taken effect so i decided to take a shower to see if it will calm me down, but the water felt so hot on my skin so hot i ran out of the bathroom.
I called my friend to see if he could help me make sense of what was going on but he laughed at me, he asked me the quantity of weed i took and i told him i used a whole parcel, he said guyyyyy you don eff up if you no sleep in the next 30mins, you go mad oo go chemist make you go explain yourself. By this time things had escalated, i had a severe itch at the back of my head that wouldn't go away no matter how hard i scratched and i was convinced that the beating in my chest was an evil spirit that could only be killed with a punch. I ran to my neighbour champion and told him champion e jo e fun mi lese laya(champion pls punch me in the chest) ti e ba gbami lese layamo ma ku oo(if you don't punch me i will die oo) he hissed and walked out having had enough of such nonsense from the boys in the boys quatters.
The voice in my head came again iwo na o de gba ara e lese laya abi o ti fe ku ni(why don't you punch yourself in the chest or do you want to die?) i punched and punched but there was no difference. The house was getting hotter, the voice in my head was getting louder, the itch in my head was getting worse, and the evil spirit in my chest was getting louder. Then came the voice again oya ma sare lo(start running) so i started running but on getting outside in the sun, i felt so cold i was shivering but that didn't stop me from running(i would have given husain bolt a run for his money on that day). On getting to the chemist, i realised i was bare footed, i told him i had a severe headache i needed something to make me sleep immediately, he gave me the drug and i chewed it right there in his presence, next i asked him to give me a drug for evil spirit, that was when he realised something was wrong with me and chased me out. I got back home and tried to sleep but my heart beat wouldnt let me, so i ran back out this time around to a nurse in the area, first thing she asked was kilode o wo bata ni? (why don't you have your shoes on? I told her jackie chan ti gba bata lowo mi (jackie chan collected my shoes) i was finally able to explain my situation to her and she took me in, tied something around my elbow and injected me directly in the vein. I passed out immediately only to wake around 1 or 2am in the middle of the night with the worst kind of hunger I have ever felt in my life. I ate a whole loaf of butter field bread in one sitting without butter or tea.
I came home to a hero's welcome, my friend told me e be like say your head no carry am but e go better make you try am once more so you go dey use to it. The following day while the house was empty, I packed my Ghana must go and like the prodigal son in the bible I went back home to my parents. It's been a few years since that experience but the lesson I learnt is an unforgettable one. My curiosity hasn't gotten me in trouble again and my circle of friends have since changed.

By SaharaReporters, New York

The State Security Service (SSS) today in Abuja paraded five suspected Boko Haram members alleged to have planned deadly attacks on Igala, Kogi State.

Among the suspects were Dr. Mohammad Nazeef Yunus, an Assistant Lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Kogi State University. He was said to be the Spiritual Leader and Coordinator for Boko Haram in the State, and the leader of the gang.

Nazeef, who was born in Idah, Kogi State, attended the Arabic Central Primary School in that town, and El-Kanemi College, Maiduguri. He also studied at the Islamic School, University of Medina, in Saudi Arabia and served in the National Youth Service Corp in 1995 at Al-Iman Secondary School, Dogon Dutse, in Jos.

Nazeef earned a Masters Degree in Arabic from the University of Jos. Just last year, he earned a Ph.D in Islamic Studies from Kogi State University.

Also arrested by the SSS were Umar Musa (Instructor), Mustapha Yusuf, Ismaila Yunusa, Mohammed Nasir, and Ibrahim Isa.

SSS spokesperson Marilyn Ogar said the suspects were planning to carry out an attack on Igala Land but were arrested at Zuba white mosque near Abuja on their way to Zambisa in Maiduguri for training. They were also going to install Sharia in Kogi State.

Umar Musa (Head of Operations/Instructor) confessed publicly that he was employed by Boko Haram as Instructor after he lost his job with the state teaching hospital, and was taken to the Sambisa camp of the sect for a week’s training on handling weapons. He said he was deployed to the education unit of the camp as Munzi (instructor) and placed on a monthly salary of N50,000. He further stated that he and Yusuf later returned from Sambisa and re-united with Nazeef in Kogi State where they plotted to carry out violent attacks in Igala land. He maintained that Nazeef appointed him the Head of Operations and munzir.

Mustapha Yusuf (Armourer/Chief Courier) and Ismaila Abdulazeez (Foot soldier) confessed that that Nazeef was their teacher who teaches them Jihad and Islamic Sharia.

Ogar told newsmen that the suspects will soon be charged to court.

Broken Relationship

At 33 I've just broken up with my fiancé after a year of agony and depression. It was a relief, but the impending sense of loss is unbearable and he's asked for two more months to fix it. We've been together for 12 years and engaged for six. Around our engagement I fell for a friend, and although I didn't act on this I can't seem to return to my pre-2007 awe for my fiancé. I also dislike weddings. In 2008 I kissed a couple of people, last year I slept with a stranger and last month I risked even more on a one-night stand. I feel more of a brother-sister type of relationship with my fiancé. I did tell him about this, but he didn't take it seriously. Details would destroy him so I ended it based on his short temper and antisocial nature (we rarely go out and he avoids my friends). He is my best friend, knows me inside out, makes me laugh and cares for me greatly. He's the most decent and loyal man I have ever known, and would be a wonderful father, but I can't picture us walking down the aisle or my romantic feelings returning.

Mariella replies I hate to think how you'd treat an enemy! Seriously, what does best friend mean? You've lied to him, been unfaithful then blamed the break up on him – it's hardly A* behaviour on your part. Now you've left him with the challenge of "fixing it". You're right about one thing – your relationship, in its present state, isn't worth prolonging.

Thinking out loud ........... Do we have such women in Nigeria?
