Gold List 2015: Breathtaking Views from Our Favorite Hotels

1. CAPE VIEW CLIFTON

They're the perfect summertime Cape Town lodging, with wide covered patios, sitting areas next to the glass doors that open out to the Atlantic, white-on-white bathrooms, and big walk-in closets. The bungalow-style rooms come equipped with a private terrace, hot tub, and views overlooking vineyards and the pool. If you do leave your room, you can take the hotel's vintage-style bikes on a ride in the Napa countryside or walk around the grounds, which are covered in olive trees and fountains. —Anthony D’Argenzio</p>

<p>Amalfi, Italy</p><p> There’s probably a compound German word for the feeling you get standing by the window in your room at the <a href="http://www.cntraveler.com/hotels/italy/pontone/hotel-santa-caterina--amalfi?mbid=synd_msntravel">Hotel Santa Caterina</a> on the Amalfi Coast, overlooking terraced lemon groves and the Mediterranean (the hotel clings to a cliff above the sea).
