A man committed suicide by fatally shooting himself at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park on Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told TheWrap.
The shooting was reported at
2:24 p.m. and firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene after receiving word of a medical emergency, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No one else was injured in the incident.
According to multiple reports, the incident took place near the park's "Despicable Me" ride, with rides stopped and the area now closed off to parkgoers.
It's not the first time the park has faced incident involving firearms.
In May 2014, a man opened fire on a crowd at the Universal CityWalk. The gunman was killed by police, while four bystanders were treated for minor injuries. The incident began in CityWalk's Infusion Lounge before spilling out into the street at around 1 a.m.
Universal Studios Hollywood has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.
